Eilersen is the result of proud furniture tradition, modern design and handmade quality.
Jens Juul Eilersen has got hold of a huge soft-ice machine. Gallons of super-soft foam and down have been poured into an intense and spacious sofa form. The result is a thick and masculine sofa, which has been named Soft Ice.
Everyone knows the feeling of delicious, soft ice cream, which clings to the lips, caresses the taste buds and slides gently down the throat. Soft Ice willingly follows your body in the same way.
Did you cuddle your pillow this morning?
"My idea was to create a sofa that you could cuddle in the same way as a down-filled pillow. When you cuddle it, it's soft and takes the form of your hands, arm and head. You immediately let it go and give it a few slaps, it rises and takes its original form again. Soft Ice functions in precisely the same way," says Jens Juul Eilersen, who stresses that the varying and sensitive anatomy the sofa thus obtains, is absolutely intentional. "Some sofas have a strict idiom, and exist like a sharp-edged sculpture in the room. Soft Ice is looser and more relaxed. When you sink down into it, it takes the form of your body and therefore has a constantly new, individual appearance, which is a mirror of your way of using the sofa."
Soft Ice doesn't melt - in fact, it's very durable
N. Eilersen A/S is known for producing furniture with a high quality of materials, comfort and durability. "The balance between a durable idiom and softness is very, very important for a sofa such as Soft Ice. It may be so soft that it appears to be a little muddled but, on the other hand, one mustn't squash it flat. By beating the surfaces, the sofa swells up again and recovers its original masculine body, which has a lifetime of many years. I am actually very proud that I have created a sofa that has precisely met the desired visual effect, and I believe Soft Ice will appeal to today's softer man." The sofa is 94 cm deep and is produced in elements of 120 and 140 cm respectively, plus a corner unit of 100 x 100 cm. The whole lot stands solidly on 6 cm high wooden legs. Why aren't there hundreds-and-thousands, sauces and other goodies on Soft Ice? "Because the sofa's loose and slightly careless appearance requires purity and aesthetics - and I don't want them to come off on my clothes," grins Jens Juul Eilersen.
Enjoy an Eilersen
Your home should be a place where you feel good. It is a place where you can surround yourself with things that you have chosen - because you need them, and because they speak to you. The forms, colours and styles of the furniture speak to your senses. It is therefore not important how a sofa fulfils its task. Your sofa should be both good to sit on and live up to your life values and taste for the aesthetic. We know all the feeling of being in a location we can rely on. We therefore say: Enjoy an Eilersen.
