Build a chrysalis with Cocoon’s cushion universe

Build a chrysalis with Cocoon's cushion universe.

"A entirely usual classic but with an unusually large toy box." That's how Jens Juul Eilersen describes Cocoon, which was inspired by silkworm cocoons. Can you build yourself comfort that's as soft as silk?

Customers have demanded modular sofas for many years, as they want to construct ideal, unlimited and diverse furniture that meets their dream of an individual sofa. You too can now build your individual comfort.

What is comfort?

Some want to float. Others want to sit. A sofa is often either-or, but this is not the case with Cocoon. It allows you to choose both. "My idea was to develop a sofa that gives support all the way around. Just like a cocoon, hence the name. I knew at once that the back should be high to give maximum support and seating comfort. And whilst I was considering how it must feel to be a silkworm larva, spinning its silk, the image arose of a gigantic toy box. That was the solution! A gigantic toy box with triangular cushions, lumbar cushions, pillows, arm supports, neck cushions - cushions in all sorts of sizes and forms. This method allows you to determine the degree of comfort yourself, and at the same time be able to have great fun building and being in the sofa."

A taut box, so you don't float away like a butterfly

"A sofa should be something to be proud of. When it promises to give you support and comfort, it's no use if you feel reliant on your own wings like a floating butterfly. Cocoon's body is therefore a strong, taut box that stands on short, solid wood legs," stresses Jens Juul Eilersen. Two end units are produced for the 120 and 140 cm respectively, a central unit of 100 cm and a corner unit of 100 x 100 cm. The seat cushions are made of Eilersen's renowned down, which provides suppleness and support but is also soft. "In addition to playing with cushions, the intention is also to play with colour," Jens Juul Eilersen points out. "By purchasing cushions and units in different colours and textile designs, you have yet more individual strengths to play on."

Enjoy an Eilersen

Your home should be a place where you feel good. It is a place where you can surround yourself with things that you have chosen - because you need them, and because they speak to you. The forms, colours and styles of the furniture speak to your senses. It is therefore not important how a sofa fulfils its task. Your sofa should be both good to sit on and live up to your life values and taste for the aesthetic. We know all the feeling of being in a location we can rely on. We therefore say: Enjoy an Eilersen.
